Gaming

After a successful run over the summer of 2018, the gaming group is now a very popular session at Heathlands.

Within Gaming sessions we cover board games, card games, pc gaming and console gaming.

Gaming as a whole is a fun way to learn and helps improve your motor skills, problem solving, social skills, concentration, team work, literacy, numeracy and can also help promote wellbeing.

PC Gaming is a great way of improving concentration, motor skills, I.T. skills and also helps improve and sharpen your reaction times. The playing field is levelled with this type of gaming, no matter what your physical abilities are as long as we can find an input device that works for you, after some practice you could hold your own against any opposition in the digital world!

Board Gaming both cooperative and competitive is a great way to improve your social skills, team work, problem solving and can help keep your mind sharp too.

Card Gaming whether it is 1 on 1 or in larger groups helps improve numeracy, literacy, cooperation, strategy and communication all just from a simple game.

Console Gaming can be just you on your own against various digital oppositions or you can play fun team games with your friends. You can relax on your own with a controller and immerse yourself in digital worlds or get physical playing sports with motion controllers and compete with friends or even work together to defeat a big boss!

One of the best parts of gaming is that without even realising it you’re improving your core skills and helping yourself grow as an individual.
