About The
Laurie Brewis Trust

The Laurie Brewis Trust is a registered charity number 1142278.

Laurie Brewis was a clinical professional with a strong commitment to improving the lives of local people with learning and other disabilities. He was instrumental in developing the charity’s vision; sadly, Laurie passed away before seeing his plans for the Heathlands site come to fruition.

The Laurie Brewis Trust was established as a registered charity in 2013 having been hosted by Glenmore Trust since 2007. The organisation has continued to flourish and now offers an unparalleled variety of choice of supported learning activities.

Today The Laurie Brewis Trust supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, acquired brain injury and others in north Cumbria.

By working closely within the community LBT supports individuals to make positive decisions about their lives that can lead to further education, training and employment as well as having a major impact on their personal lives.

The Laurie Brewis Trust operates from its base to the north of Carlisle as Heathlands and since 2019 as Better Together in Brampton Community Centre and Harraby Community Centre.
