MusicMusic making - Create, Play and Perform
The music group explores music and sounds using voice, live and virtual digital instruments. The focus is on creating, playing and recording original pieces of music and songs as a group ensemble . We have a wide range of instruments for all abilities and are part-owners of the Cumbria Gamelan; a set of Indonesian percussion instruments. We regularly work with specialists local musicians as well as the experts here at Heathlands. We've performed in a variety of places including Rheged near Penrith, Carlisle Railway station and gigs at nearby Rockcliffe Community Centre. In our digital music sessions we use computers to generate, record, sequence and manipulate audio. With the use of soft synths we create awesome basslines and melodic leads that can give your track the edge, add a drum machine to create your beat and rhythm add them both to a DAW sequencer and you’re well on your way to making track! We record sounds, voices, noises, instruments and so on… once recorded we import the audio files into our sequencer or audio workstation and manipulate the audio to make it just how you want it to sound. Although we do work in groups one of the best ways to make this type of music is to be on a computer on your own with a set of headphones - the choice is yours! |
